Today your child received their job application. We went over how to fill the application out in class. Students have the option to fill out and return the paper copy or they may fill the application out online. Students are also asked to include a letter of recommendation from a family member or neighbor. Letters of recommendation should convince the employer why the candidate is the best candidate for the position. Job applications and letters of recommendation are due on or before November 8th.
In addition, students will go on an interview with a Fleming staff member. We will role play and review how to prepare for an interview in class. More to come on interviews...

Fort Day
Our school earned a PBIS celebration on Tuesday. We celebrated fort day in the classroom and enjoyed spending time getting creative and having fun. Below are pictures of the forts students made together.
Field Trip Thursday 10/26
We have an exciting field trip to Lake Champlain tomorrow. The forecast appears to be chance of rain and in the 50's. Since we will be outside most of the day rotating through stations please remember the following:
- Dress in layers- pants, fleece etc.
- Bring a raincoat
- Wear comfy shoes
- Bring a water bottle
- Pack lunch (those signed up for school lunch are all set)
- Bring backpack
Science Investigation
During our matter unit in science students investigated a mystery powder by conducting various tests. They looked at appearance, solubility and conducted a vinegar and iodine test. Ask your child what mystery powder they had and how they can prove what it was. We were working on the concept of identifying substances.
