Mystery Powders

During our matter unit, students have been working on identifying matter by its properties. In this Mystery Powder investigation students:


  • Observed and measured substances to identify them based on their properties. 
  • Tested different substances and identified cause and effect relationships.
  • Used tools to make accurate measurements and used standard units to describe physical properties.
  • Made observations and measurements to produce data.
  • Recorded data in tables and looked for patterns.
  • Identified a mystery powder by making a claim and supporting it with evidence.

Mrs. Coviello’s Class Celebration

Mrs. Coviello’s class saved up 4 PBIS 100’s charts to earn a class celebration today. Students have worked hard being safe, kind, respectful and responsible.We had stuffed animal/PJ day. Do you ever wonder what the stuffed animals do when their owners go to specials?

Interview Success!

Students have completed their interviews and did an amazing job practicing and preparing. On Monday. students will receive their job applications, letters of recommendation and interview feedback. This morning jobs were announced and will begin Monday. Be on the lookout for information on upcoming auctions throughout the year.

Writing

Our young writers have been busy writing their personal narratives. This unit is
wrapping up this week. Students have learned how to pick a "seed story" that includes a lesson
they have learned from that moment or experience. They have worked with the rubric and
evaluated a mentor text. Finally, students have worked on revising their own story after each
